Tbilisi TV tower illuminated in colours of United States flag on Independence Day

The hilltop TV tower overlooking Georgia’s capital Tbilisi was on Tuesday illuminated in the colours of the flag of the United States to commemorate Independence Day celebrations.

Tbilisi City Hall said the symbolic celebration marked the 247th celebration of the July 4 date in the US.

It also said the move was designed to send a message to the “friend country and strategic partner” on the annual date.
