Georgian officials congratulated the United States on its 247th Independence Day today.
President Salome Zourabichvili wished her American counterpart Joe Biden and American “friends and partners” a happy Independence Day, noting Georgia and the US stood “united in their common value for freedom and independence, the very principles the 4th of July represents”.

Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili congratulated “American friends” on “the birth” of their “great nation”, highlighting the continued friendship and partnership between the US and Georgia.

In his tweet, the Georgian Ambassador to the US, David Zalkaniani also congratulated American friends on their Independence Day, saying the increased partnership between the US and Georgia would bring “a peaceful and prosperous future for our nations”.

Georgian Vice Parliament Speaker Archil Talakvadze wished peace and prosperity, joy and happiness to Americans and noted he was “proud” of the friendship and partnership between the US and Georgia.

Last week Georgian officials, including Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, were hosted at the official reception held at the US Embassy in Tbilisi on the occasion of the US Independence Day. In his address at the event, Garibashvili highlighted the same values and principles of freedom and democracy that “form the foundation of the enduring friendship” between Georgia and the US.
