Pawel Herczynski, the European Union ambassador to Georgia, on Wednesday said he was “very glad” with an existing “intensive” dialogue between Georgian high officials and their counterparts from EU institutions and member states, in comments ahead of a meeting between the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Charles Michel, the President of the European Council.

In his remarks over today’s meeting, Herczynski noted it was “extremely important” to keep “all channels of communication” open, “especially in the coming months”, with the country waiting for the decision of EU member states concerning its bid for the bloc’s membership candidate status.

The EU diplomat also said he was confident the conversation between Garibashvili and Michel would be “open, honest and meaningful”.
