Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau on Monday said his country’s Government supported granting the European Union membership candidate status to Georgia.
In his remarks at a press conference with his Swedish counterpart, Rau noted Poland and Sweden also supported the aspirations of Ukraine and Moldova to start negotiations on accession to the EU before the end of this year.
“We would also like Georgia to seize its chance and become a candidate country to join the bloc”, the top Polish diplomat said.
