European Council President Charles Michel on Thursday said he was “absolutely convinced” that the future of Georgia was as part of the European Union “family”.

The bloc’s official highlighted the future of the country must be based on the “fundamental” European values of “peace, prosperity, economic and social development”.

He also noted the Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili had invited him to the country, and he was exploring the possibility of a visit.
