Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili on Tuesday reiterated the “unwavering will of the Georgian people to join the European family” at the meeting with Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission.
In her tweet, after the meeting, Zourabichvili noted she had emphasised the importance of gaining the European Union membership candidate status for the Georgian society and stressed she looked forward to continued cooperation with the Commission, advancing the country on its “historic path” toward EU.

Responding to the meeting, the European Commission President, in her tweet, welcomed Zouabichvili’s “strong commitment” to Georgia's European perspective.

As part of her visit to Brussels, the President of Georgia also held a meeting with the President of the European Council Charles Michel earlier today. She is also set to meet with President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola and address the European Parliament.
