Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Wednesday said the “open support” of the United States for Georgia’s European integration was “unequivocal” and said he was confident the backing would continue.
In an interview with Imedi TV, Darchiashvili called the US a “very important strategic partner” for Georgia.
Since the restoration of Georgia's independence, the United States has strongly supported the development and democratic reforms of our country. We have a very dynamic, two-way relationship”, he told the channel.
“We have repeatedly heard, and we still hear today, the strong support of the United States when it comes to the European integration of Georgia”, the top Georgian diplomat said.
The open support of the United States for Georgia’s European integration is unequivocal, and I am sure that it will continue. We will also continue to maintain close, dynamic relations in order to further strengthen and deepen our bilateral strategic partnership”, Darchiashvili concluded.
