Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Wednesday handed over the report on Georgia’s progress under the European Union enlargement package to Pawel Herczynski, the bloc’s Ambassador in the country.
The document details the country's progress on the EU integration path and “major steps” made in this process, the Georgian foreign office said.
It was approved on Tuesday at a meeting of the country’s EU Integration Commission, led by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, and consists of 35 chapters detailing efforts carried out within the framework of integration with the EU over the past year.

Its compiling began in late February in accordance with the request of the European Commission, with all state agencies, legislative bodies and judicial authorities involved in the process.
The report describes the legislative, institutional and other types of activities carried out in connection with the rapprochement with the EU from May 2022 to the present day, including information on work in various sectoral areas.
The European Commission will publish its evaluation report on the country’s efforts in the fall of 2023, before the European Council decides whether to grant Georgia the membership candidate status based on the document.
