Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Friday started his visit to Azerbaijan, with the Government head welcomed at the Gabala International Airport by Azerbaijani officials and Georgia’s Ambassador to the country.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov, Ambassador to Georgia Faig Guliyev and Georgian Ambassador Zurab Pataradze met the visiting head of state on his arrival.
As part of the visit, Garibashvili will hold a meeting with President Ilham Aliyev and answer media questions alongside his colleague, the Government Administration said.
The delegation headed by the Prime Minister includes Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ilia Darchiashvili and Head of Government Administration Revaz Javelidze.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Thursday hailed the “very important, historical” projects implemented with Azerbaijan, including the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway and the Black Sea Strategic Submarine Electricity Cable projects, noting the relations between the countries have been “tested by time” and “at the highest level”.
