Georgian President, OSCE Chairman discuss Black Sea region situation, support for Ukraine

The ongoing hostilities in Ukraine and support for the country amid the Russian invasion, and the situation in the Black Sea region were discussed on Wednesday in a meeting between President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili and Zbigniew Rau, the Chairman-in-Office of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe and Poland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs.
In remarks at the meeting, Rau underlined both the OSCE and Poland supported Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, the Press Office of the President of Georgia said.
I am here to reiterate my support for Georgia's territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence, on behalf of both the Polish state and the OSCE,” the top Polish diplomat said.
The President of Georgia noted the important steps Poland had taken to support Ukraine and Ukrainian refugees showed the country was “one of the leaders in the European Union.”

Security challenges in the Black Sea region caused by the ongoing hostilities in Ukraine were discussed on Wednesday in a meeting between Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili and Chairman-in-Office of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe and Poland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Zbigniew Rau.
Zbigniew Rau, the Chairman-in-Office of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe and Poland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, has extended his gratitude to Georgian authorities and citizens for their support for Ukraine, noting the OSCE commended the country’s “unconditional” support for the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine.

Russia's aggression against Ukraine and deteriorating security situation in the occupied regions of Georgia were discussed at the meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs David Zalkaliani and Zbigniew Rau, the Chairman-in-Office of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe and Poland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, on Wednesday.
Zbigniew Rau, the Chairman-in-Office of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and Poland’s Foreign Minister, along with Marek Szczygieł, the Head of the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) in Georgia, visited parts of the Administrative Boundary Line (ABL) with Georgia’s Russian-occupied breakaway Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) region on Wednesday.
The recommendations and findings, as well as their implementation, reflected in the final report on the 2021 municipal elections of the election observation mission of the OSCE office for democratic institutions and human rights, were discussed on Tuesday by the head of the mission Albert Jonsson and the head of the central election commission Giorgi Kalandarishvili.
