The recommendations and findings, as well as their implementation, reflected in the final report on the 2021 municipal elections of the election observation mission of the OSCE office for democratic institutions and human rights, were discussed on Tuesday by the head of the mission Albert Jonsson and the head of the central election commission Giorgi Kalandarishvili.

Jonson called the 2021 elections “transparent and well-administered”, while Kalandarishvili informed the representatives of the mission on the implementation of the recommendations and the ongoing activities in the election administration, the CEC press office reported.

The officials also discussed future cooperation and the “concrete steps” that could be taken by “various involved parties” to bring election legislation and practices into compliance with the commitments made with the OSCE.

We discussed the possibilities of using electronic technologies and talked about the challenges facing the administration today", Kalandarishvili said.

Earlier today Jonson and representatives of the mission also held meetings with parliamentary political party representatives, discussing recommendations and “exchanging opinions” on the final report of the observation mission.

As you have seen in our report and recommendations, there is a particular emphasis on the media, which is definitely a big and important factor in the election process”, Jonson told the media.
