Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili called on “all political groups” in the country to “stand with” the Government in a “common position” on the European Union membership of the state.
Papuashvili underlined it was “important” that different political groups and the Government shared common ground to ensure the country would pass “this path as quickly as possible.”
It is important that all the political forces grasp the choice made by the people of Georgia and act in accordance with this choice,” the Parliament Speaker said.
Georgia officially applied for EU membership on March 3, with Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili signing the country’s membership application.
