Slovakia fully supports the Georgian people’s will to become members of our European family, Ivan Korčok, the Slovak Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, said on Saturday.

Georgia is a very trustful partner of ours. You cooperate with NATO, your armed forces participate in crisis management operations worldwide. Only Georgia can decide on its own path, including this moment,” he told the Georgian Public Broadcaster.

Korčok said Georgia had taken a “clear position” in supporting Ukraine amid the Russian invasion, adding the Slovak Republic would support both countries’ bids for becoming European Union members.

Georgia officially applied for EU membership on March 3, with Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili signing the country’s membership application.
