Georgian mountain rescuers complete training with Polish instructors

Rescuers of Georgia’s Emergency Management Service have completed a mountain rescue training held in the country within a Polish grant programme, the state body said on Wednesday.

With the support of Polish instructors, 28 rescuers were trained in mountain areas of Svaneti in the north-west and Kazbegi in the north, as well as central Georgia’s Borjomi municipality.

The professionals of the Service were given an opportunity to improve skills in rescue operations on high altitude difficult terrain, with the Polish organisers providing special equipment to the rescuers after their completion of the course.
