Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili held a phone call with Olivér Várhelyi, the European Union Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, over the ongoing conflict in Ukraine on Sunday.

The two officials also discussed the prospects of Georgia’s European integration, the government administration said.

The head of Georgia’s government expressed gratitude to the EU Commissioner for the “productive conversation in these difficult times”, referencing the conflict in Ukraine sparked by Russia’s invasion of the country on Thursday.
