Georgia’s Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani and Josep Borrell, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, held a phone call over the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and Georgia’s security situation on the backdrop of the events on Saturday.
In the call, Borrell shared information on the measures taken by the EU in response to Russia's violation of the principles of international law through its ongoing military action, while EU’s support for Georgia was also raised.
Zalkaliani expressed gratitude to the EU official for the latter position, before tweeting “We strongly condemn Russian led military aggression taking place in and we #StandWithUkraine”.

The particular attention from the EU and member states to Georgia in the light of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine was also mentioned in the call between the two officials, Georgia’s foreign office said.
