Georgian and French foreign ministers on Monday discussed bilateral ties and praised “close cooperation” at a meeting held on the sidelines of the United Nations climate change conference in Sharm El Sheikh, the Georgian foreign ministry said.
Discussing bilateral cooperation, Ilia Darchiashvili and Catherine Colonna noted the recently established Dimitri Amilakhvari dialogue format between their countries and its “great potential” for a further strengthening of ties.

While discussing existing regional and global security challenges, the French official welcomed Georgia’s participation in the October meeting of the European Political Community in Prague over Russia-Ukraine conflict and related complications, called by her country.
Darchiashvili thanked his colleague for France’s “continued support” for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Georgian delegation, chaired by prime minister Irakli Garibashvili, is featuring in the Cop27 conference in Egypt.
