Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili will hold “high-level” meetings in Hungary after departing for the official visit to the country on Wednesday, the government administration said.

Along with meetings of the head of government, the intergovernmental economic commission will also hold discussions in the country.

The Georgian delegation also includes vice prime minister and minister of economy and sustainable development Levan Davitashvili and minister of foreign affairs Ilia Darchiashvili.

Revaz Javelidze, the head of the government administration, and Leri Barnabishvili, the head of the administration’s department of relations with regions, are also involved in the delegation.

Zaza Gogsadze, Georgia's ambassador to Hungary, said the country was an “active supporter” of Georgia in the international arena, backing the country’s NATO accession and EU membership candidate status aspirations as well as its territorial integrity.

This visit will take this support to an even higher level. Economic issues will be discussed, which will undoubtedly contribute to further developing the great economic potential between the two countries”, he said.
