Paata Kalandadze, Georgia’s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, on Monday said economic cooperation would be in focus of prime minister Irakli Garibashvili’s visit to the country that started today.

Kalandadze said the PM would hold meetings with the country's top leadership, government representatives and the heads of a large financial corporation of the Abu Dhabi emirate.

The Georgian diplomat also added the officials would review the present status of bilateral cooperation and future prospects of its development.

The visit of the prime minister to the United Arab Emirates takes place in an extremely important period, because this year the two countries are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations”, Kalandadze said.

“In addition, it should be noted that this is the first visit of the Georgian prime minister to the country after the opening of the Georgian embassy in Abu Dhabi in 2020”, he concluded in his comments.
