Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has called the 58th Munich Security Conference (MSC) a “truly outstanding platform” as the head of the government is leading the Georgian delegation taking part in the gathering of leaders from across the world starting today.
Garibashvili tweeted about the event earlier today, noting the MSC examined traditional and contemporary security challenges and adding “Georgia stands alongside the international community” in the cause of ensuring international security.

Foreign minister David Zalkaliani, who is in the delegation led by the PM, noted Georgia’s attendance at the conference “indicates our opinion is very important for the world community.”
Zalkaliani further said Garibashvili would discuss his Peaceful Neighbourhood Initiative, which promotes stability in the South Caucasus region and was presented to the United Nations General Assembly’s 76th session in New York in September last year.
Bilateral meetings are also planned, [as well as] meetings with representatives of business circles [...] because following the pandemic, economic recovery and attracting more investment is a priority of our government,” Zalkaliani said.
The Georgian delegation also includes Minister of Defence Juansher Burchuladze and the Head of the Government Administration Ilia Darchiashvili.
The MSC 2022 assembles more than 450 senior decision-makers and leaders from across the world.
