Georgian foreign minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Monday said prime minister Irakli Garibashvili would have the opportunity to discuss “all challenges” facing the world through climate change with other world leaders at the ongoing United Nations 27th climate change conference in the Egyptian resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh.

After kick-starting his participation in Cop27 on Monday, Garibashvili will address the conference to raise the topic of “effective steps” for countering the challenge, Darchiashvili noted.

I am sure that the visit of the Georgian prime minister will bring specific results”, the minister said, expressing his confidence in “tangible results” from the Georgian delegation’s participation.

The head of the government’s delegation includes Darchiashvili and Revaz Javelidze, the head of the government administration.

Cop27 will take place from Sunday to November 18, with heads of state attending the Sharm el-Sheikh climate implementation summit on Monday and Tuesday, and ministers participating in a “high-level” segment between November 15-18.
