A majority of Georgian citizens believe the government and the parliament are doing enough to support Ukraine amid the Russian invasion, a new survey released on Friday by the US National Democratic Institute and CRRC Georgia said.

In the survey, 51 percent of respondents said the legislative body was doing enough to support the war-torn country, while support for the government’s policy on Ukraine stood at 53 percent among the surveyed citizens.

Younger citizens, Tbilisi residents and opposition supporters were more likely to say the government and the parliament should be doing more to support the country.

In addition, 58 percent of respondents said the war in Ukraine was Russia's fault, a decrease of 9 percent in comparison to a March survey.

The nationwide survey was conducted between July 14-August 15 through face-to-face interviews with a nationwide representative sample of Georgia’s adult population, excluding the occupied territories.

The August poll included 2,104 completed interviews with the average margin of error at 2 percent.
