The approval rate of the Georgian Government’s performance has increased by 10 percent since last summer, a new survey released on Thursday by the US National Democratic Institute and CRRC Georgia said.

The two institutions asked citizens how they would rate the Government’s performance, with 51 percent responding with “good”, 39 percent with “bad” and eight percent saying they didn’t know.

The survey also found approval for the Government was “relatively lower” among residents of capital Tbilisi, women, and opposition supporters, while the percentage had increased the most among the undecided, as well as residents of small cities and rural areas, and the middle age group.

Its results also showed negative perceptions of performance of the President, Prime Minister and Parliament had decreased by eight to 10 percent.

The survey was run between December 3-20 through face-to-face interviews with a nationwide representative sample of Georgia’s adult population, excluding the occupied territories.

The poll involved 2,519 completed interviews, with the average margin of error at 1.6 percent.
