A quarter of Georgian citizens polled in a new survey by the US National Democratic Institute and CRRC Georgia named the ruling Georgian Dream party as being “closest” to their views, while the opposition United National Movement was cited by six percent of those surveyed.
In the polling, other parties were named by a combined 13 percent of respondents, while 39 percent said “no party” was closest to their views.
Organisers of the survey noted that declared support for individual parties was low enough that the figures could not be taken as a guide to the outcome of future elections.
The survey was run between December 3-20 through face-to-face interviews with a nationwide representative sample of Georgia’s adult population, excluding the occupied territories.
The poll involved 2,519 completed interviews, with the average margin of error at 1.6 percent.
