Passenger flow at Tbilisi International Airport recovered by 92 percent compared to the pre-pandemic 2019 figure in August, TAV Georgia, the company operating two major airports in the country, said on Monday.
In further details, TAV Georgia said the airport had served 363,830 passengers in August, a 48 percent increase compared to 2021 data.
Figures for Batumi International Airport in the country’s western Adjara region - also operated by TAV Georgia - showed the airport had served 103,625 passengers last month, marking a two percent increase compared to 2021 and a seven percent increase compared to 2019.
Georgia’s revenues from tourism reached $476 million in July, a 20 percent increase from the same month of the pre-pandemic 2019 and a roughly 130 percent increase from July 2021, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said last month, with the latest figures of the August to be released in the coming days.
