Air Moldova airline is set to launch direct flights between Tbilisi and Chișinău next month, TAV Georgia, the company operating Tbilisi and Batumi airports in the country, said on Tuesday.
After [completion of] appropriate procedures, from October 2022, Air Moldova will perform Tbilisi-Chișinău direct flights by Airbus 320 aircraft twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays", said the company.
In other updates, TAV Georgia also said Air Moldova was expected to increase its flight frequency to four times a week from November.
Tbilisi International Airport served 363,830 passengers in August, a 48 percent increase compared to 2021 data, TAV Georgia announced last week, adding that passenger flow at the airport had recovered by 92 percent in the month compared to the pre-pandemic 2019 figure.
Georgia’s revenues from tourism reached $522,945,221 in August, a 26.7 percent increase from the same month of the pre-pandemic 2019 and a 163.1 percent increase over August 2021, the country’s tourism administration said on Friday.
