Main priorities of European Union-Georgia cooperation, the progress achieved on the country’s road to European integration and the current situation in the Russian-occupied regions of Georgia were discussed between the Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and Michael Gahler, the Member of the European Parliament, in Brussels on Tuesday.
At the meeting, held in the framework of the 7th Georgia-EU Association Council, the parties emphasised the European Council’s “historic decision” to grant Georgia the European perspective, with the parties noting the latter’s “active work” to fulfil the conditions of the European Commission, the Foreign Ministry’s press office said.
The sides also praised the “fruitful and close cooperation” between Georgia and the European Parliament.
