Internally displaced families to receive new housing in Tbilisi, Zugdidi, Kutaisi

The Georgian Government has approved provision of new flats to internally displaced families in capital Tbilisi and western cities of Zugdidi and Kutaisi, the Government Administration said on Monday.

In the initiative, 2,400 IDP families will be provided with housing in Tbilisi, with 1,700 families to be offered flats in Zugdidi and 720 in Kutaisi through financing options, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said at today's Government’s meeting.

Garibashvili also noted 13,000 internally displaced families who are beneficiaries of the initiative would receive new housing until 2025.

Garibashvili also said of the total number, 7,000 families would receive flats in newly constructed apartment blocks, with the remaining 6,000 accommodated in rural areas under the Country House programme.
