Three individuals have been charged with fraudulent appropriation of a large amount of state property, the Investigation Service of the Georgian Finance Ministry announced on Wednesday.
The Service said its investigation had found the group had fraudulently registered land plots with a total area of 4,318 square metres and worth ₾ 656,295 ($242,175) in Georgia’s eastern Mtskheta-Mtianeti region.
In its comments, the state body said the offenders had registered the land plots through forged documents they had produced.
The crime is punishable by six to nine years in prison.
