Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Wednesday said the Prime Minister's visits to Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan should “generally contribute” to the cooperation between the South Caucasus region with Central Asian states to maximise economic potential of the sides.

“The visit of the Georgian Prime Minister to Turkmenistan [...] is of special importance as it will contribute to the further strengthening and deepening of our bilateral relations”, Darchiashvili said.

The top Georgian diplomat noted “all the opportunities” of countries involved in the cooperation “should be exploited and strengthened as much as possible”.

He added Garibashvili’s visits to the two countries would serve to “strengthen the economy of our country” and take advantage of Georgia’s potential in the region.
