Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Wednesday thanked the Government of the United Kingdom for allocating an additional £5 million funding for a new phase of the UK-Georgia programme to strengthen the country's resistance to Russian cyber attacks.
Garibashvili stressed the funding contributed to both Georgian and European security.
“We extremely value the £5m funding from our strategic partner, the UK to strengthen Georgia’s resilience to external threats in cyber space by contributing to both Georgian and European security!”, the head of the Government tweeted over the matter.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Wednesday announced the additional funding for the programme, which will allow the Georgian National Security Council to deliver its new cybersecurity strategy, which involves efforts to identify and repel attacks “seeking to undermine” Georgian and European security.
