Georgian PM departs for official visit to Vienna

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Monday congratulated the United States on its Independence Day by saying the date was a “symbol of freedom, democracy and commitment to common values” not only for US citizens but “for the entire democratic world”.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Wednesday said his Government stood ready to work closely with the transatlantic community to “safeguard peace, stability and promote shared values”.

Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg on Friday said his country was “ready to accompany” Georgia on its European integration path and assist the country in reforms related to attaining the European Union membership candidate status.

The European Council’s decision on granting the European perspective to Georgia is a “recognition of the progress” achieved by the country over the years, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said on Friday at a joint briefing with Karl Nehammer, the Federal Chancellor of Austria.

Strengthening cooperation between the parliaments of Austria and Georgia and deepening relations between the two countries were discussed on Friday between the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Wolfgang Sobotka, the President of the National Council of Austria.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Monday departed for an official visit to Uzbekistan. Within the framework of the visit, Garibashvili will hold "high-level bilateral meetings" in the country, the Government Administration said.
