Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Ilia Darchiashvili on Monday congratulated the country’s European “friends and partners” on Europe Day.
Darchiashvili noted the date symbolised “unity for peace and democracy”.
Georgia historically belongs to this family and continues walking steadily on the path of European integration,” the top Georgian diplomat tweeted.

Europe Day celebrates the achievements of Europe and the signing of the Schuman Declaration on 9 May 1950, which aimed to secure long-term peace in postwar Europe.
