The Foreign Ministers of Romania, Slovenia, Montenegro, Croatia and Serbia on Wednesday sent messages of congratulation to Ilia Darchiashvili on his recent appointment as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, the Georgian foreign office said.

In his congratulatory letter the top Romanian diplomat Bogdan Aurescu underlined a “solid political dialogue” could be used to deepen cooperation between Romania and Georgia, and to promote the latter’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.

Slovenian Foreign Minister Anze Logar highlighted “friendly relations” between the two countries along with their bilateral cooperation, and expressed hope Georgia would pursue the path of European integration and implement reforms for the “social and economic well-being of the Georgian people”.

Montenegrin Foreign Minister Dorde Radulovic also said he hoped relations between the two countries would further deepen in “all areas of mutual interest”, and confirmed Montenegro's “unwavering support” for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia said “joint efforts” would contribute to the further deepening of the “traditionally friendly relations” between his state and Georgia.
