Gov’t publishes EU membership questionnaire following PM decision

The Government of Georgia has published the European Commission questionnaire for Georgia’s European Union membership on Friday, following a decision by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili to make the document public.

The decision to release the questionnaire was made at today's meeting of the Government Commission on EU Integration, led by the PM.

The first part of the questionnaire, which includes political and economic parts, was delivered to Georgian authorities on Monday in Luxembourg. Based on the questionnaire, the European Commission will prepare an evaluation report on granting candidate status to the country.

Georgia is also set to receive the second part of the questionnaire, which will focus on sectoral topics and compatibility with EU legislation of sectors of the country, the Government Administration said.
