27 individuals have developed Covid-19 vaccine side effects in Georgia

The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) representative Khatuna Zakhashvili told Interpressnews agency today that 27 of the vaccinated individuals have developed Covid-19 vaccine side effects in Georgia.
Zakhashvili said that four among 27 vaccinated individuals required intensive care unit (ICU), two were placed in resuscitation, while three others were hospitalized.
While talking about Covid-19 vaccine side effects, Head of NCDC Amiran Gamkrelidze explained that fever, muscle or joint pain, fatigue, redness at the injection site are common reactions of Covid-19 vaccines.
Gamkrelidze said that in most cases side effects occur 1-2 days after taking the vaccine.
Covid-19 vaccination process started on March 15 in Georgia and since then 8,536 medical workers and individuals over 65 years of age have been vaccinated.

6,780 of 8,536 individuals have been vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine, while the rest 1,756 with the Pfizer vaccine.

Georgia will receive 200,000 doses of two Chinese vaccines this Saturday, Head of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health Amiran Gamkrelidze announced earlier today. Georgia bought 100,000 doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine, while another 100,000 doses of the Sinovac vaccine were gifted by China to Georgia.
Georgia has reported 529 new cases of coronavirus, 326 recoveries and 13 deaths in the past 24 hours.
A total of 81 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Georgia’s eastern Kaspi municipality within the last six days.
Georgia has confirmed 464 new cases of Covid-19 after conducting 7,647 PCR tests and 8,002 rapid tests over the last 24 hours. As of now the number of total confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Georgia since last February has increased to 283,833.
