Georgia reports 464 new cases of Covid-19 out of 15,649 tests

Georgia has confirmed 464 new cases of Covid-19 after conducting 7,647 PCR tests and 8,002 rapid tests over the last 24 hours.
As of now the number of total confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Georgia since last February has increased to 283,833.
Out of the 464 new cases 243 were reported in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi.
Other cases were reported in:
- Adjara - 57
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 49
- Imereti - 28
- Guria - 28
- Shida Kartli - 23
- Kvemo Kartli - 16
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 10
- Kakheti - 7
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 3
Moreover 454 individuals have recovered from Covid-19 over the last 24 hours increasing the number of recoveries to 274,599.
With seven new cases of death Georgia has lost a total of 3,811 patients. The number of active cases now stands at 5,397.

Georgia began Covid-19 vaccination process on March 15. Currently health workers, people above 55, soldiers and policemen are eligible to receive their first vaccine shots.
Mass Covid-19 immunisation is expected to start in Georgia in July. However, it will not be mandatory.
Georgia has received the 100,000 doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine earlier today. However, Sinopharm vaccination will not start until it received approval from the World Health Organisation.
Georgia has reported 580 new cases of Covid-19 after conducting a total of 13,198 PCR tests and 16,531 rapid tests over the last 25 hours. Out of the 580 new cases 331were reported in Tbilisi.
The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) representative Khatuna Zakhashvili told Interpressnews agency today that 27 of the vaccinated individuals have developed Covid-19 vaccine side effects in Georgia.
Georgian soldiers and policemen will be eligible to undergo Covid-19 vaccination starting April 5, Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze said earlier today.
Police checkpoints have been set up in four villages in western Georgia to prevent the further spread of coronavirus. The citizens entering or leaving the villages will need to undergo thermal screening and Covid-19 testing if necessary.
Georgia has reported 897 new cases of coronavirus, 196 recoveries and 10 deaths in the past 24 hours.24,592 tests have been conducted around the country in the past 24 hours.18,536 of the 24,592 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 6,056 were PCR tests. The country has had 284,958 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 275,220 of the 284,958 patients have recovered, while 3,832 have died from the virus.
