Police checkpoints have been set up in four villages in western Georgia to prevent the further spread of coronavirus.

The Georgian Interior Ministry reported yesterday that the citizens entering or leaving the villages will need to undergo thermal screening and Covid-19 testing if necessary.
However, none of the strict quarantine restrictions have been imposed including on the freedom of movement.

The interior ministry calls on citizens to demonstrate high public responsibility, wear face masks and maintain the safety regulations.
Previously the checkpoints have been set up in three villages in the municipality of Kaspi as well after 81 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported within the last six days there.
