Covid-19 in Georgia: 580 new cases, 215 recoveries, 6 deaths

Georgia has reported 580 new cases of Covid-19 after conducting a total of 13,198 PCR tests and 16,531 rapid tests over the last 25 hours.
Out of the 580 new cases 331 were reported in Tbilisi.
Other cases were reported in:

Meanwhile, 215 individuals have recovered from the coronavirus and six infected patients have died.
As of now, Georgia has confirmed a total of 283,369 cases of the coronavirus since last February, including 274,145 recoveries and 3,804 deaths. The number of infected individuals stands at 5,394.
Georgia is expected to receive 200,000 doses of two Chinese vaccines -Sinopharm and Sinovac - later today.
A total of 81 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Georgia’s eastern Kaspi municipality within the last six days.
In total 97,663 Georgian citizens have registered for a seasonal employment programme in Germany, while there are only 5,000 vacancies available at this stage, reports the State Employment Promotion Agency.
In March 2021 the consumer price index increased by 4.2% compared to the previous month, while the annual inflation rate amounted to 7.2%, according to the latest inflation data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
Georgia will receive 200,000 doses of two Chinese vaccines this Saturday, Head of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health Amiran Gamkrelidze announced earlier today. Georgia bought 100,000 doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine, while another 100,000 doses of the Sinovac vaccine were gifted by China to Georgia.
Georgia has received the 100,000 doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine earlier today. However, Sinopharm vaccination will not start until it received approval from the World Health Organisation.
Georgia has confirmed 464 new cases of Covid-19 after conducting 7,647 PCR tests and 8,002 rapid tests over the last 24 hours. As of now the number of total confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Georgia since last February has increased to 283,833.
Police checkpoints have been set up in four villages in western Georgia to prevent the further spread of coronavirus. The citizens entering or leaving the villages will need to undergo thermal screening and Covid-19 testing if necessary.
The Chinese government will gift Georgia 100,000 doses of Sinovac vaccine in April, head of Georgia’s National Centre for Disease Control Amiran Gamkrelidze stated earlier today. Georgia received 100,000 doses of Chinese Sinopharm vaccine last week and the country has plans to purchase the Chinese Sinovac vaccine in April, Gamkrelidze said. He stated that both vaccines are likely to be approved by the World Health Organisation (WHO) in mid-April and Georgia will launch vaccination only after.
Georgian health officials have warned of a potential third wave of coronavirus in the country if individuals refuse to receive the vaccine and act in line with recommendations.
