Several Covid-19 restrictions lifted in Georgia today

As the number of coronavirus-infected individuals in Georgia has decreased over the past few weeks, the Georgian government has lifted several Covid-19 restrictions across the country today.
After a few months pause restaurants have reopened today in the Black Sea resort town of Batumi.
Private and public kindergartens have resumed work starting today as well, where once every two weeks, 20 per cent of employees of kindergartens will have to undergo mandatory testing for Covid-19.
The Tbilisi Kindergarten Management Agency says that all educational institutions will be monitored on a regular basis to ensure the health of both children and staff.
Higher and vocational schools will be able to resume clinical, practical, laboratory activities and conduct examinations in a non-distance format as of March 1.
In-person studies in lecture halls will resume March 15.
Starting today museums and libraries have resumed work across the country.

Georgia has reported 160 new cases of coronavirus, 409 recoveries and 10 deaths in the past 24 hours.17,947 tests have been conducted around the country on the weekend. 13,244 of the 17,847 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 4,703 were PCR tests. The country has had 270,918 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 265,523 of the 270, 918 have recovered, while 3,520 have died of the virus. As of today 1,849 individuals remain infected with Covid-19.
Representatives of various businesses are holding a protest rally in front of the administrative building of the government of Georgia demanding the coronavirus-related restrictions be lifted. Claiming that restaurants, hotels and winter resorts will fail to recover unless they reopen as soon as possible. The protesters say that therefore their businesses wil die out eventually.
Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze says that it is important for Adjara region of Georgia to be fully reopened and keep the community transmission rate at 3%. After the meeting with the local business community Tikaradze said that business is ready to cooperate with the government.
Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said at today's inter-agency coordination council meeting that if the community transmission rate continues to remain at over 4% any talk about normal economic performance is 'nothing more than gossip'.
