Restaurants, cafes and bars will operate in Georgia without hourly restrictions and the permissible number of spectators at cinemas, theatres and the opera house will increase from 30% to 50%, announces Chief of the Operational Staff of the Interagency Coordination Council, Giorgi Gibradze.
Restaurants in the country were allowed to be open until 23:00 beginning October 5; however, the Georgian government decided to lift the restriction due to the activation of 'green passes' starting December 1, which will enable people to enter certain establishments with proof of vaccination, testing for or recovery from COVID-19.
Gibradze also announced that vaccinated Georgian citizens are not obliged to present negative PCR test certificates when entering the country by land.
Per the Coordination Council’s decision, Georgian citizens who have been vaccinated in Georgia and enter the country over the land border will be released from the obligation to submit a PCR test,” Gibradze said.
He also emphasised that those who have recovered from coronavirus will have their 'green' status permanently.
A COVID pass smartphone application Georgia e-Health has already been launched and is available both on App Store and Google Play. However, those who do not use smartphones will be able to receive a COVID-19 pass at public service halls.
