Georgia reports 4,318 new COVID-19 cases, weekly positivity rate stands at 9%

Georgia has reported 4,318 new cases of coronavirus, 2,457 recoveries and 70 deaths in the last 24 hours. The weekly positivity rate for tested individuals stands at 9%.

A total of 52,962 tests have been conducted around the country during the last 24 hours. 32,513 of them were rapid tests, while the remaining 20,449 were PCR tests.

The new 4,318 cases were recorded in:

  • Tbilisi – 1,663 cases
  • Imereti – 809 cases
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti – 295 cases
  • Kakheti – 303 cases
  • Adjara –  159 cases
  • Guria – 98 cases
  • Shida Kartli – 360 cases
  • Kvemo Kartli – 279 cases
  • Samtskhe- Javakheti –  184 cases
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 55 cases

Currently 52,252 individuals remain infected with COVID-19, of which:

  • 44,608 patients are undergoing treatment at home
  • 6,471 patients – in hospitals
  • 1,173 patients - in clinical hotels

382 infected patients are on artificial ventilation.

In total, 2,090,036 COVID-19 vaccine doses were administered in the country so far, while 978,208 individuals (approximately 32% of the population) have been fully vaccinated.
