Georgia reports 4,287 new cases of coronavirus, positivity rate stands at 8.37%

Georgia has reported 4,287 new cases of coronavirus, 4,154 recoveries and 63 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate has gone down to 8.37 % of tested individuals for Covid-19 as of November 19 in comparison to the last seven days.
In total, 51,298 tests have been conducted around the country of which 31,273 were rapid tests, while the remaining 20,025 were PCR tests.
The new cases were recorded in:
- Tbilisi – 1,749 cases
- Imereti – 715 cases
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti – 334 cases
- Kakheti – 267 cases
- Adjara – 155 cases
- Guria – 109 cases
- Shida Kartli – 412 cases
- Kvemo Kartli – 273 cases
- Samtskhe- Javakheti – 114 cases
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 40 cases
Currently 51,723 individuals remain infected with COVID-19, of which:
- 44,060 patients are undergoing treatment at home
- 6,490 patients – in hospitals
- 1173 patients - In the clinical hotels
In addition,1,630 patients are in critical condition, of which 381 are on artificial ventilation.
2,082,020 individuals have received at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine across the country.
The Ministry of Heath of Georgia reports that 2,000 doses of Tocilizumab, produced by Hetero Biopharma Limited, and 500 doses of Ronapreve monoclonal antibodies produced by Roche were delivered to the country today. Tocilizumab and Ronapreve are used to treat severely and critically ill patients infected with COVID-19.
“Nine out of every 100 COVID-infected children need to be placed in hospital”, medical director of Iashvili Children Hospital and Head of Immunization Council Ivane Chkhaidze said.
The Georgian Ministry of Health has launched a COVID pass smartphone application Georgia e-Health which displays an individual's COVID-19 vaccination records, as well as the latest PCR and antigen test results. Georgia e-Health is available both on App Store and Google Play. Following the installation, an individual needs to register in the system. Afterwards, one's vaccination, testing, and recovery information will be displayed automatically.
Georgia has given the green light for coronavirus vaccination for teenagers between 12 and 15 years of age with the German-US Pfizer vaccine, Georgian Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia stated earlier today.
Georgia has reported 4,318 new cases of coronavirus, 2,457 recoveries and 70 deaths in the last 24 hours. The weekly positivity rate for tested individuals stands at 9%. A total of 52,962 tests have been conducted around the country during the last 24 hours. 32,513 of them were rapid tests, while the remaining 20,449 were PCR tests.
