The Ministry of Heath of Georgia reports that 2,000 doses of Tocilizumab, produced by Hetero Biopharma Limited, and 500 doses of Ronapreve monoclonal antibodies produced by Roche were delivered to the country today.
Tocilizumab and Ronapreve are used to treat severely and critically ill patients infected with COVID-19.
The Georgian Health Ministry noted that the drugs have been purchased within the World Bank’s Emergency COVID-19 Response project.
Head of the Public Health Division of the Policy Department at the Ministry of Health Ekaterine Adamia said that 2,500 doses of drugs will be distributed to all COVID-clinics across the country.
Drug maker Hetero’s generic version of Tocilizumab received Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) in September, 2021.
