The International Ski Federation (FIS), representatives of international partner companies OnCourse and Schneestern, and the International Sports Marketing Company have visited Georgia’s ski resort of Bakuriani to inspect new infrastructure ahead of the 2023 Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships.

Experts of the FIS praised work done by the Mountain Development Company. An artificial snow system is being installed. Artificial water reservoirs will be built in the coming future. I think Georgia will host the World Cup with dignity in 2023”, said the Director of the Mountain Resorts Development Company Irakli Chirakadze.

Competition Director of the FIS Roberto Moreszi said the preparatory work in Bakuriani is successful despite the severe pandemic situation.

On February 19, 2022 Bakuriani will host the Europa cup stages of Parallel Slalom (Snowboard), while there will be giant slalom on February 20.

In 2018 Georgia was elected as the host of the FIS Freestyle and Snowboard World Championships.
