Nearly 15,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine have expired in Georgia

“About 15,000 doses of AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine have expired in Georgia”, Head of the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) Amiran Gamkrelidze said earlier today.

Gamkrelidze said the specific number of the expired doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine will be made known next week.

Starting today, those who have received the first dose of AstraZeneca vaccine, will be offered alternative vaccines - Pfizer, Sinopharm or Sinovac.

As of October 24, a total of 61,456 individuals have received AstraZeneca vaccine in Georgia. 58,689 of 61,456 people received the second dose of the vaccine.

The least number of people in Georgia are vaccinated with AstraZeneca in Georgia.

The vaccination process started on March 15, 2021 in Georgia.

Overall, 1,978,857 individuals have received at least one dose of the vaccine in the country so far, while 940,546 people have been fully vaccinated.
