Coronavirus: Georgia reports 240 new cases, 9,056 tests conducted on the weekend

Georgia has reported 240 new cases of coronavirus, 681 recoveries and 21 deaths in the past 24 hours. 

5,422 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia as of today. 

9,056 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours around the country.

5,490 of the 9,056 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 3,566 were PCR tests. 

Georgia has had 258,351 cases of coronavirus since February 2020.

249,709 of the 258,351  individuals have recovered, while 3,194 others have died.

The new 240 cases were recorded in: 

  • Tbilisi - 86 cases 
  • Adjara - 15 cases 
  • Imereti - 37 cases 
  • Kvemo Kartli - 19 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 21 cases 
  • Guria - 3 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 28 cases 
  • Kakheti - 17 cases 
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 6 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 8 cases 
  • Racha-Lechkhumi, Kvemo Svaneti - 0 case

2,676 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 569 of the 2,676 patients are in critical condition. 162 of the 569 critical patients are on artificial ventilation. 

More than 2,219,000 tests have been conducted in Georgia so far.

15,689 individuals are in self-isolation.
