Georgia reports 858 new cases of coronavirus, 580 recoveries, 14 deaths

Georgia has reported 858 new cases of coronavirus, 580 recoveries and 14 deaths in the past 24 hours. 

5,686 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia as of today. 

• PM Gakharia: 60% of Georgian population to be vaccinated in 2021

17,271 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours around the country.

• First doses of Pfizer vaccine to arrive in Georgia in late February

11,459 of the 17,271 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 5,812 were PCR tests.

Georgia has had 259,209 cases of coronavirus since February 2020.

250,289 of the 259,209  individuals have recovered, while 3,208 others have died.

The new 858 cases were recorded in: 

• Tbilisi - 339 cases 
• Adjara - 53 cases 
• Imereti - 158 cases 
• Kvemo Kartli - 49 cases 
• Shida Kartli - 50 cases 
• Guria - 38 cases 
• Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 85 cases 
• Kakheti - 44 cases 
• Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 21 cases 
• Samtskhe-Javakheti - 15 cases 
• Racha-Lechkhumi, Kvemo Svaneti - 6 cases

2,520 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 575 of the 2,520 patients are in critical condition. 160 of the 575 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.
