Coronavirus: 2,354 new cases of 27,956 tests in 24 hours

Georgia has reported 2,354 new cases of coronavirus, 5,200 recoveries and 60 deaths in the past 24 hours.
In total, 22,875 tests have been conducted around the country of which 12,208 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 10,667 were PCR tests.

The new cases were recorded in:
- Tbilisi - 942 cases
- Adjara - 368 cases
- Imereti - 316 cases
- Kakheti - 166 cases
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 156 cases
- Kvemo Kartli - 108 cases
- Shida Kartli - 108 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 75 cases
- Guria - 64 cases
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 18 cases
Currently 56,753 individuals remain infected with Covid-19, of which:
- 46,007 patients are undergoing treatment at home
- 2,698 patients - in hospitals
- 3,346 patients - in the clinical-hotels
In addition, 1,557 patients are in critical condition of which 361 are on artificial ventilation.

87 patients take treatment at the Digomi field hospital, which received the first patient on August 20.
As of today 55,323 individuals are in self-isolation and 125 individuals are under quarantine.
Since February 26, 2020 Georgia has had 517,098 cases of coronavirus, 453,488 recoveries and 6,831 deaths.
Ten per cent of Georgia’s adult population have been fully vaccinated as of August 21.
Georgia has reported 3,803 new cases of coronavirus, 3,332 recoveries and 48 deaths in the past 24 hours.
Georgian Bishop Saba (Intskirveli), who heads an eparchy in North America, has called on the public to vaccinate because 'the major contribution [one can make] to the fight against Covid-19 is to receive the vaccine.'
Georgia has reported 74 coronavirus deaths in the past 24 hours which is a record high figure since the country confirmed its first case of Covid-19 at the end of February 2020. 6,723 individuals have died from the virus in Georgia so far. The country has reported 4,901 new cases of 46,595 tests and 2,586 recoveries in the past 24 hours. Most of the new cases were reported in the capital Tbilisi, Adjara and Imereti regions.
One more field hospital for 200 Covid-19 patients on Kavtaradze Street in Tbilisi has received its first patients yesterday, Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze stated earlier today.
Deputy Director of the National Centre for Disease Control of Georgia (NCDC) Paata Imnadze has stated today that due to the current epidemiological situation, a lockdown is not being considered, however tightening the coronavirus regulations will be discussed.
Georgia has reported 5,924 new cases of coronavirus, 4,777 recoveries and 60 deaths in the past 24 hours. 59,659 remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia currently. 47,288 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 35,185 of the 47,288 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 12,103 were PCR tests. The country has had 523,022 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 10.93 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days.
