One more  detained for attack on TV Pirveli cameraman at Tbilisi Pride counter rally, 40 out of 53 journalists granted victim status

Police have detained one more individual for attacking a TV Pirveli cameraman Levan Bregvadze on Rustaveli Avenue on July 5 during the Tbilisi Pride march counter-rally.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reports that the detainee, identified only as I.Ts., (born in 2000) verbally and physically insulted TV Pirveli cameraman.

Police found that on July 5, I.Ts. verbally and physically assaulted the cameraman of TV Pirveli while performing his professional duties at the intersection of Revaz Tabukashvili and Giorgi Chanturia streets on Rustaveli Avenue”, reports the press office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Police have already detained two other individuals, identified only as V.B. and N.G., on July 17 for attacking the same cameraman while performing his professional duties on July 5.

A total of 26 individuals have been detained for unlawful interference with journalists' professional activities, while one has been detained for attacking another individual.

Rustavi 2 reported earlier today that a total of 46 individuals attacked during the Tbilisi Pride counter rally have been granted victim status, of which 40 are journalists of various media outlets.
